This is a breeding agreement between the above named Stud Owner/Agent and the above named Bitch Owner. For Natural Breedings, the stud fee shall be $____, half-payable at the time of breeding and the remaining balance due upon the whelping of the above bitch. For Fresh/Chilled or Frozen semen Breedings, the stud fee shall be $____, the payable remaining balance due upon the whelping of the above bitch- see section B.

The Stud Fee is payment of the Stud Service only, and is not to be construed as a guarantee of puppies surviving the whelping. One (1) or more live puppies constitutes a litter. In the event no litter is produced or is lost within the first ten (10) days a repeat breeding at the bitch's next heat will be provided at no additional charge of a Stud Fee. Bitch owner will provide Stud owner a pedigree, and a copy of the AKC registration. OFA and CERF certificates are required; DNA (PRCD) certificates are also suggested but not required by the Stud owner. A photograph of the Stud will be provided to the Bitch Owner if requested.
Immediately prior to breeding, the Bitch Owner will provide the Stud Owner with a current certificate signed by a veterinarian or a certified laboratory, certifying the bitch to be clear of brucellosis. The Bitch Owner certifies that the bitch has not been bred to any other male dog during this heat cycle, and that utmost care will be taken to insure that she is not bred to any other male dog after this service has been provided, and that the puppies will be given proper care.
The Stud Owner is not required to sign the AKC Litter Registration papers until such time as the Stud Fee and all reimbursable expenses due the Stud Owner are paid in full by the Bitch Owner.
Section A
Part 1: Natural Breeding
Half the Stud Fee is to be paid upon delivery of bitch to Stud owner, the balance paid 10 days after the puppies are born.
No board will be charged on the bitch for the first seven (7) days: thereafter, board will be charged at $15.00 per day. Local transportation provided by the Stud Owner for the pickup and drop off of the bitch are not to exceed $20.00. Additional boarding charges and local transportation charges are to be reimbursed to the Stud Owner prior to release of the bitch to her owner.
The Bitch Owner shall also be responsible for delivering a sound, physically fit and healthy bitch to the Stud Owner and shall provide any special instructions and medication and food, if necessary, for the well being and care of the bitch.
If aggressive behavior on the part of the bitch impedes the ability to obtain a successful natural breeding, then the stud owner reserves the right to have a veterinarian perform artificial insemination breedings at the expense of the bitch owner. Any other medical expenses that may be necessary to the bitch either for her health and safety, or to insure the breeding of both animals, including smears or progesterone testing, will also be the responsibility of the Bitch Owner. Said expenses are to be reimbursed to the Stud Owner prior to release of the bitch to her owner.
Section B
Part 1: Artificial Insemination using Fresh/Chilled Semen (not shipped)
The Stud fee is to be paid upon receipt of this contract, the AKC Certification Form, application for using Fresh or Extended Fresh Semen filled in and signed by the Bitch Owner. The Bitch Owner is responsible for any charges for the collection and inseminations to be paid directly to the Stud Owner's licensed veterinarian.
Part 2: Artificial Insemination using Shipped Fresh/Chilled Semen
The Bitch Owner is responsible for charges of the semen collection, semen preparation, shipping container and all other packaging and handling fees incurred in the shipping of the specimen charged by the veterinarian or storage facility. The Bitch Owner will supply the Stud Owner with an AKC Certification Form, application for using Fresh or Extended Fresh Semen filled in and signed. The Bitch Owner is responsible for any charges for the inseminations.
Stud Fee: Stud Fee is $____ plus the veterinary charges for semen collection and semen preparation. Bitch owner shall pay the balance of the Stud fee 10 days after the puppies are born.
Part 3: Artificial Insemination using Shipped Frozen Semen
The Bitch Owner is responsible for charges of the semen collection, semen preparation, shipping container and all other packaging and handling fees incurred in the shipping of the specimen charged by the veterinarian or storage facility. The Bitch Owner will supply the Stud Owner with an AKC Certification Form, application for using Frozen Semen filled in and signed. The Bitch Owner is responsible for any charges for the inseminations.
Living Stud Fee: Stud Fee is $____ plus the veterinary charges for semen collection and semen preparation. Bitch owner shall pay the balance of the Stud fee 10 days after the puppies are born.
Living Stud Semen: Stud fee includes three (3) frozen semen straws. Additional semen may be purchased at the rate of $___ per straw. The Bitch owner assumes responsibility for the local storage and documentation fees of the shipped semen.
Section C
Part 1: Code of Ethics
The Bitch owner is expected to abide by the American Chesapeake Club Code of Ethics, whether or not they are a member of the ACC, as well as the rules and regulations set forth by the American Kennel Club for the ownership, breeding and registration of purebred dogs; provide the best of care for their pregnant bitch and the resulting litter; make every attempt to place pups in appropriate, sound and secure homes and shall not release the puppies to their new owners until they are at least seven (7) weeks of age. No offspring from this mating are to be offered for sale to or through any pet shop, grooming parlor, humane organization, or any other kennel.
